The history of Awesome Painting.

Awesome Painting began in 1972 when Frank G. Colao began working as a stockboy at Sherwin-Williams in Syracuse, New York.  Most of the customers were painting contractors so much discussion was about solving their challenges with the right products available.  Mixing paint, stocking shelves in the warehouse, unloading inventory and loading shipments acquainted Frank with the wholesale paint experience.

Through the years and many assignments later, Frank continues to hone his superb painting skills. The impeccable attention to detail does come at a price so his talents are reserved for a very special kind of client.   Frank’s motto: “Quality cannot be rushed” has been the mission statement right from the beginning and continues to this day.

Available for consultation and concept review on a pre-screened basis. If an assignment is accepted there is no charge for the initial consultation.   Frank is always looking at trends in paint colors, textures, styles, and finishes. Most recently, with the migration/upgrading to energy efficient windows, the Light Reflective Value (LRV) of a particular paint and color scheme is becoming more important to provide a satisfying level of light in each space.

Awesome painting expects to begin a three month job this week. Preparations for this have been ongoing over the past month. Utilizing Craig’s List to move out some items looking for new homes. This has worked well post Covid-19 and should make moving things around for the paint project a bit easier. This will be a much welcome change when completed.

Awesome painting cannot benefit from state tax holiday as “the trade” is not eligible for this. Only retail customers are exempt on these designated days.
